Turning the handle. Opening the door. My mind steps aside and music flows through effortlessly form a place no one can name but everyone knows. The drum is the source that calls forth most of my music. The way I sing was born of trance brought on by long periods of solo drumming. It sounds like a language and it’s very consistent like a language but it’s not a known language. It’s not a made up language either because that implies thought processes. However it is a felt language. In truth I just flip a switch ( that trance switch ) and linguistic musical sounds pour out. The wind instruments Iv’e played for so many years have had a big melodic influence on my singing too.I call my musical style Original World Fusion as it’s influenced by the music of diverse cultures all over the planet both modern and indigenous. Iv’e been fortunate to have so many wonderful talented brothers join me on stage at west coast venues including LIB, Symbiosis, Lucidity, Live Oak Music Festival and Ecstatic Dance venues all over California including Esalen Institute, the Ojai Foundation and so many more.
