TIMPANA’s music draws deeply from the indigenous and folk traditions of Bolivia — shaped by the rhythms of Latin America, whether African, Andean, or Amazonian; electronic or acoustic. At its core lies a deep relationship between consciousness and the natural world.
Bolivian singer, actress, and multidisciplinary artist Alejandra Lanza founded TIMPANA in 2009 with the release of her debut album Alma Perdida. While her sound has evolved, her artistic identity has remained rooted — grounded in Bolivia yet constantly reaching outward. From La Paz to Mexico City, Berlin, and beyond, TIMPANA moves across continents in search of kindred spirits who believe that nature and technology — the ancestral and the futuristic — do not need to be in conflict.
This is where Primavera Anónima enters: a creative dialogue with medical researcher and artist Pablo Freudenthal. Together, they have helped shape TIMPANA into one of Bolivia’s most forward-thinking music projects. Thanks to this synergy, she has collaborated with artists such as Pahua (Sotomayor), Rodrigo Gallardo, Animales de Costumbres, Skatman, and Intiche.
TIMPANA has toured widely across Europe and the Americas, and is currently working on her third album, Sirirí — a ritual in progress.
