"Tishmal" is the debut solo project of Rachel Brockbank, a San Diego native living in Los Angeles. Tishmal means hummingbird in Luiseño, the language of her Native American heritage. The name was given to her as a young girl, around the same time she began to seriously write music.
With shimmering vocals and poetic lyrics, Tishmal’s brand of ethereal, electro indie pop is finding a home with fans of other female powerhouses like MUNA and Maggie Rodgers.
Having first gained attention in the electronic space featuring on Kaskade’s “New James Dean” in 2021, Tishmal’s star is rapidly rising with features including Sultan + Shepard’s “Losing Ground” and Marc Benjamin’s “Blinded by Your Light”.
