Transatlantic Hope is Tobias Östlund's first solo release as Tobias and the Pyre. This EP debuts a collection of songs that are as moody and introspective as they are authentic and joyful. Tobias first began making music in Gävle, Sweden, a seaside industrial town known for their hometown poet and union activist Joe Hill, as well as a vibrant music scene where every genre from metal, jazz and soul to folk and traditional swedish music intermingle on the airwaves and in the pubs. Tobias is a seasoned and beloved live performer and vocalist who emerged from these musical traditions. He was inspired to put this EP together after performing his original songs with the popular and highly regarded Stockholm band KlubbN, who serve as his backing band on this album. The result is a heartfelt and soulful Americana-tinged folk rock album where pristine arrangements with layered slide guitar and mandolin effortlessly wash over rootsy percussion and are magnetized by Tobias' rich and tingly vocals.
