Tod Morrisey's latest three-song release, All the Ghosts, wraps power-pop hooks and dream rock textures around something far more personal. Imagine Big Star colliding with Teenage Fanclub in a world a little heavier, a little more fragile. The guitars shimmer. The harmonies nod to the Beach Boys. But beneath the surface, these songs are reckoning with the kind of chaos and loss that don't resolve cleanly. Written and recorded between 2023 and 2025, All the Ghosts explores the space between memory and moving on. It is a collection built on contrast: melodic, immmediate, and emotionally layered. The warmth of the sound doesn't hide the weight of the story, it sharpens it. The release features standout performances from Buddy Weeks and Craig Macintyre (Drums and Percussion), Dave Lovato and Don Schwartz (Bass), and Troy Welstad and Jeff Stuart Saltzman (keyboards and organ). Jeff Stuart Saltzman (Stephen Malkmus, Typhoon, Menomena, Los Lobos, Ural Thomas and the Pain) mixed the tracks bringing depth and clarity to the sonic palette. Morrisey is a longtime figure in Portland's indie music scene. In the early 2000's, he fronted Man of the Year, a band that earned regional acclaim and appeared in The Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. He has since continued releasing music under his own name while also performing with the local collective Luminous Things. All the Ghosts is part of a full length record, releasing in 2026.
