Tonico 70, born Antonio Cuciniello, is a versatile artist from Salerno, Italy. He's a rapper, musician, producer, and beatmaker who started writing rhymes in the mid-90s, when he brought together hip hop enthusiasts into a single crew called Cafardo. Tonico's journey through the Salerno hip-hop scene alongside DJ Pio and rapper Morfuco led to collaborations with numerous artists, including Stik b, Speaker Cenzou, Francesco Di Bella, and Shaone. He's been involved in a variety of projects, some of which he founded himself, like Dint Movement, Funky Pushertz, the duo Gold School, and the collective Banda Maje, which he co-founded with Peppe Maiellano.
After years of supporting and producing other artists, Tonico shifted his focus to his own music in 2018. The instrumental album Jetlag (with Peppe Maiellano) marked this transition, leading to Antonico in 2022, his most intimate and reflective work to date. This album reveals a well-rounded Tonico 70, an artist who transcends the confines of traditional rap, exploring its diverse facets and influences. In 2023, he reunited with Morfuco and Shaone for the album Blues Explosion, where he blends blues with his soul and R&B roots.
