Torulf is a Nordic Tribal artist from western Sweden - surrounded by archipelagos and forests, bronze age petroglyphs and Viking grave mounds. His creative visual mind is rooted in Scandinavia and her nature; echoing the timeless northern spirit for exploration and bridging to ethereal realms. Invoking the sagas of old, adventures of ancestors sailing across unknown seas - Torulf weaves esoteric meanings into his musical voyages.
Torulfs Saga, a series of concept albums, traverses visual soundscapes by setting sail on a mythical odyssey - spellbinding stories bringing a bond between outer experiences and inner journeys. Each album is a story - every song a chapter. Adrift on the waves of time, Torulf is establishing a multi-album voyage - with each album leading into the other. The Saga unfolds by life, adventures, and beliefs.
Being shaped by his own travels, kindled by an awakening in Nordic spirituality and ancestral beliefs, and impassioned by northern stories of old - Torulf is channelling his life into music; through tribal rhythms, delicate melodies, and mesmeric atmospheres. Torulf combines modern and ancient ways, lyrics of Swedish and Old Norse mingling, bringing together electronic and folk instruments.
Started in 2015, Torulf released his debut album Västerled in 2018, followed by the EP Midsolsblot in 2019. He signed with Grimfrost Records in 2023 and his second album Ristningar i Ginnungagap was released in 2024.
