Rúnahild is a Nordic folktronica project, hailing from an off-grid wooden cabin in the mountains of Norway. Inspired by her healing journey, her spiritual connection to nature and the Norse magic Seid, her music aims to hold space for others to explore their own inner universe.
Since the beginning of the project in 2016, the intention has been to compose intuitively, by channelling emotions and energies, and weaving improvised songs and sounds together to create harmonies. The voice is the main element of the music, ranging from emotional and ethereal to raw and tribal.
Throughout the albums, the organic sound of various folk instruments and drums has gradually been merged with the atmospheric vibe of the synthesiser and rhythmic electronic beat.
With her 10th album Seid, she revisited some of her oldest compositions, breathing new life into them as past inspiration gave birth to a vision renewed. A fusion of her original organic sound and her newly embraced electronic vibe. A metamorphosis that redefines her music as witchy folktronica.
