Formed in 2007, Greater Manchester 4-6 piece (depending on who has left and who is currently drumming) Total Victory have released three full-length albums: 2011's The Pyramid of Privilege, the acclaimed National Service (2012), with English Martyrs (2017) their most recent effort. Generally filed under post-punk, Total Victory's music surveys a great range of developments in independent guitar music post 1978: there's knotty indie rock, boneheaded one chord thrashers, lovelorn melancholia, extended bouts of shapeshifting repetition, and concise pop snorters. Lyrically literate, fervently DIY, and shunned in their homeland, Total Victory have released exclusively on a variety of regional French labels: Kerviniou, Specific, Katatak, Bruisson, and Tandori.
