Ajani Touré grew up in Virginia. As a child, Touré’s mom would take him to New York to see Broadway plays, which stimulated his early love for music. Around 11 years old he decided to pick up the alto saxophone. It was clear even then that he was gifted musically. As he grew he learned to master balancing the art of music and his social life. His musical interests in high school led him to the craft of disc jockeying. He became one of the most sought out DJ’s in high school and went by the name “DJ JonJon” and was even more popular in his college scene - throwing some of the biggest social events on campus; and ultimately making a name for himself! After losing his grandfather, who he was especially close to, he decided it was time to make some changes and take a jump! He packed his bags and moved to Miami with two of his friends and producer. Their music became the focus of all of his attention and desires starting in the fall of 2019. With inspirations such as The-Dream, Musiq Soulchild, Usher, Lloyd & Drake…Touré’s sound is a blend of R&B of the early 2000s with a twist of rap mixed into his chill vibes, catchy melodies and smooth vocals. He calls it a “new age soul R&B.” His longevity is inevitable!
