Trash 1976 - 2023
Trash played loud, fast, rock'n'roll, influenced by the <a href="spotify:artist:3yesh1QeNXucaDFw8ZPKxd" data-name="Flamin' Groovies">Flamin' Groovies</a> and the <a href="spotify:artist:0WhGV9lzljq2QKJ8ipw6jx" data-name="New York Dolls">New York Dolls</a> (whose song <a href="spotify:track:2OQS3xvoKKSayJMJT8dVuZ" data-name="Trash">Trash</a> was responsible for the bands name). They released two singles on Polydor: <a href="spotify:track:0jmjOSJFU3qnZ4AEm6vOWF" data-name="Priorities">Priorities</a> (1977) and <a href="spotify:track:0PMJoQt20pD8U2Nf9ZwbJh" data-name="N-N-E-R-V-O-U-S">N-N-E-R-V-O-U-S</a> (1978), the latter <a href="spotify:playlist:0Nefvq0E8tHKKZmwnl33Ul" data-name="Produced by Shel Talmy">Produced by Shel Talmy</a> the legend that also produced <a href="spotify:artist:67ea9eGLXYMsO2eYQRui3w" data-name="The Who">The Who</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:1SQRv42e4PjEYfPhS0Tk9E" data-name="The Kinks">The Kinks</a>.
Both singles were included on the well-received 2011 compilation CD "<a href="spotify:album:1JK8behNOWOZFqJWwxGU14" data-name="This Is Complete Trash">This Is Complete Trash</a>".
In 2019 Priorities appeared on the Cherry Red box set <a href="spotify:album:6c1WSujqGztAN3dNyRgOzT" data-name="1977: The Year Punk Broke">1977: The Year Punk Broke</a>.

May 12 2023 saw the release of a new vinyl LP containing previous released tracks re-mastered and a B side of covers from the original live demo recorded in 1976 but never released.
Titled <a href="spotify:album:2kSak9Z47LZspOWpp2ZeIy" data-name="Bashing Out The Chords 1976 – 1979">Bashing Out The Chords 1976 – 1979</a> it is available from Detour Records (detourrecords.co.uk)
In late 2023 the original band: Simon Wright (Vocals) Mick Brophy (Guitar) Keith Steptoe (Bass) Steve Pearce (Drums) decided to produce a new single - “Matter Of Time”. Although Keith was producing the track both he and Steve pulled out of the project midway, citing incompatibility and music differences. Mick and Simon Wright continued with ex TRASH drummer - Simon Butler-Smith - and ex CHEATERS band members. Released on April 12th 2025.
