Established in the Summer of 2005 in Northwest Washington, D.C., "Tru Expressionz" (Go-Go Band) a.k.a "Up-Town's Finest" was formed. Band members ranging between the ages of 13-18 years old would come together and begin a legacy in the Go-Go culture. In High School original members would promote at their schools by passing out flyers and free CD's, sliding them between the vents in the lockers and leaving school early to catch all the students coming out. After passing out hundreds of copies of the 1st studio album entitled "Ya'll Rock, We Crank" in 2006, at the local mall. The band would take off with their popular song "Let Me Smack It". Kids around the city quickly gravitated to the lyrics and unique 808 drive by creating dances and whipping their hand in the air side to side as they chant loud with the frontline. The buzz and following caught the attention of some of DC's top promoters. Bookings sometimes at 6 all age shows a weekend between 2006-2008 and headlining the neighborhood club "The Love TV/G-Spot". Wednesday nights at The Thai Seafood Restaurant in Waldorf, MD, would become a weekly 21+ gig the band performed at in 2007 having to leave the club after performing because members were too young to party
