The 40-legged funk beast know as Trulio Disgracias is back with “Hoo N’ the Fukk R You,” a single packed fulla extreme nuttiness. The previous single, an elaborate rethink of the Sly Stone classic “If You Want Me to Stay,” was an underground funk smash accompanied by an Olivia Barish-directed video. Let by bassist Norwood Fisher, cofounder of the culture confounding band Fishbone, his ongoing big - no giant- band Trulio Disgracias was started in 1987 because people just showed up and he said 'let's play.’ As the ringleader of an ever-evolving coterie of top-flight singers and players, Norwood and TD have mastered outlandish performances of self-described 'nuttiness'. It’s a journey of lavish riffs, heart pounding one-drops and deep descending valleys resulting in a seamless, two-hour set. The band has performed continuously with a revolving all-star lineup, combining powerhouse music veterans and up-and-coming stars on one stage. The Trulio family includes current and former members of Parliament/Funkadelic, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bad Brains, Freestyle Fellowship, Spearhead, Weapons of Choice, Ozomatli, the Untouchables, Gap Band, Suicidal Tendencies, Slightly Stoopid, and of course, Fishbone. As Trulio prepares to drop a new LP in 2020 featuring over 76 musicians.
