BROTHER THEODORE is the brainchild of Ted Gould III, a veteran musician whose career as a sideman includes working with NOLA Funk Music Legend Zigaboo Modeliste, Jon B., Prince Damons, and Pop icon Jody Watley.

With his debut as a bandleader, Ted has created an organic blend of Soul music with Funk, Rock, and Jazz influences. The album, St. Ann features the talents of some of the best New Orleans and Bay Area musicians with guest appearances by Prince alumni, Dr. Fink and Levi Seacer, Jr.

Opening with a Minneapolis-style funk jam, St. Ann features a horn-driven homage to New Orleans, a hard-hitting Al Green-style commentary on social media "activism," and two instrumentals reminiscent of Stevie Wonder and Vulfpeck. Ted also delivers an unexpected jazz-influenced bass guitar and vocal rendition of the Elvis Costello classic, "Alison," and a fresh take on the Brothers Johnson's "Strawberry Letter 23." The title track, "The Ghost of St. Ann," is a haunting acapella tribute to his mother.
