The brainchild of contemporary composer and producer Richard Strong, Tsen Ru was born from a lifelong love of music, its roots stretching back to late night sessions on SL1200 turntables and a deep appreciation for genres spanning electronica, trip hop, jazz, classical, funk, and cinematic scores.
After years of shaping his vision, Richard’s breakthrough came in 2017 when he shared the track Dreamstate with long-time friend and acclaimed Australian musician Harley Stewart. Their collaboration sparked something special - lush synths, dynamic guitars, deep grooves, moody strings and immersive visuals that became the signature of Tsen Ru.
Tsen Ru's 2022 debut LP, Retrospective, marked the beginning of a genre-defying journey, followed by a series of dynamic singles. Now, with renowned Melbourne percussionists Josh Barber and Joe Victory joining the mix, Tsen Ru continues to evolve, pushing boundaries and redefining the listening experience.
