Two Roses is about introspection with another version of myself. As children, we would call this an imaginary friend. As adults or spiritualists, we’d call it shadow work or ego.
I went through my life processing my emotions in this way. It felt less mentally combative and more of a conversation. I gave him a name, style and persona. At times he’d be my ally, and at others, my enemy (ego)
In the end, we’d find common ground which lead me to a life with fewer grudges and regrets, and instead with more love, knowledge and contentment. Whether I love or hate my other half, he’s helped me grow.
