UGI is a solo project of bass player and producer Erik Harbers, based in Nijmegen,The Netherlands.
Besides playing in bands and projects providing low end Erik loves to create, experiment and record in his self-build studio.
The first UGI release was the Headspace EP in 2019.
Erik also teamed up with other artists in creating a dance video and art installation in 2021 for the track Cortisol.
Under the name UGI Erik is pushing the boundaries to new creative grounds and collaborations.
UGI is intuitive layering and manipulating sounds, sampling, looping, freaking with all kinds of instruments and effects without a premeditated plan.
The Murky beats EP was created in solitude and reflects on the dark times we are in. With these tracks UGI pays an homage to old skool hiphop and the noble art of sampling.
