Uncle Kid combines trip-hop with spoken word to create genre-defying tracks that look at social themes of isolation, class, and mental illness. His debut EP, ‘Indistinct Chatter’ grabbed the attention of BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson, who describes him as an “unsettling Scottish artist” and hailed his first single, ‘Supermarket Sweep’ as “a song for our times”. His unique cover of What a Wonderful World, which features traditional instruments alongside circuit-bent Casio keyboards and children's toys, was featured in the Herald's top tunes of 2023 in Scotland.
