The explosive two-man army known as Unified School District hails from Northern California. Comprised of DJ/Producer Ecto One and MC Super Ugly, this powerhouse duo has been recording and making music together since 2000. Blending the old school boom bap with their treacherous, no holds barrred, gritty style has gained them a dedicated fan base whose ears bleed for that USD style around the world. Super Ugly and Ecto One were forced together when no other group or sub-culture could figure out what to do with them. Together their sound is both futuristic and retro, hard to place but so familiar. The two have been compared to such legendary duos as Gangstarr and the Pete Rock and CL Smooth. Super Ugly brings the lyrical complexity akin to Aesop Rock or El-P, while Ecto One scratches and bends turntables to his will with the touch of DJ Premier or Q-Bert. They have worked with Copywrite, Sabac Red of Non Phixion, Prince Po of Organized Konfusion, and Declaime.
