An ardent exponent of the underground scene since 1997, Union Jack distill the rock & roll, punk and ska influences that have shaped and enriched the trio’s distinctive, identifiable sound. A mix of catchy melodies and dissonance, enhanced by the ping-pong of two voices and heavy distortion.
The trio’s songs are abrasive and angry, tackling social issues such as the place of women in the world, the illusion of choice in democracies, macho behaviour, LGBT rights, precarity, illness, frustration, over-consumption, the power of culture, wars suffered, resilience, social rejection, the pharmaceutical industry, religious blindness, gentrification, anti-speciesism, the army, etc.
