Untitled was the confusingly-named solo project of San Francisco-born singer/songwriter <a href="spotify:artist:0ga5J8Qi6aqk4DWAwJWcOf">Cindy Dall</a>, a part-time office assistant and exotic dancer who performed with <a href="spotify:artist:7gqsi6aBSkRMJoL9psKqMr">Bill Callahan</a> in his band <a href="spotify:artist:2ajVJyxI4sHmTMtTA3ENko">Smog</a> and worked with writer <a href="spotify:artist:4JsrNFFiz09mv0nf7cWgMZ">Lisa Carver</a> in publishing her infamous fanzine Rollerderby. After recording her solo debut with the aid of <a href="spotify:artist:7gqsi6aBSkRMJoL9psKqMr">Callahan</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:46urSPEzIrRVqKqciwOq2f">Jim O'Rourke</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0ga5J8Qi6aqk4DWAwJWcOf">Dall</a> struggled to name the project, but when nothing suitable arose, she simply dubbed her dark, unsettling music Untitled; an eponymously-titled debut was released on Drag City in 1996. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
