Upiór is a Blackened Death Metal band formed in 2019 by long-time friends Tomasz Jaskula (guitars) and Sebastian Stachowiak (keyboards). The band initially made waves with their self-released single in 2020, followed by an EP in 2021. Their debut full-length album, The Forest That Grieves, was released in 2022 in both digital and physical formats. The album received widespread acclaim from fans and specialized metal press across Europe, with Rock Hard Italy lauding its "devastating impact" and "excellent craftsmanship"
After The Forest That Grieves was released, Chris Bone, who had contributed vocals and lyrics, joined Upiór as a permanent member, adding a new dimension to their sound. A few months later, Sebastian left to focus on personal projects, completing his final work on The Forest That Grieves – A Symphonic Final Tale, which was released in 2024.
2023 marked a pivotal year for Upiór, with live performances in Poland, including a notable show at “The Last Words of Death” in Bydgoszcz. This transition from a studio project to a live band signaled a new era for Upiór. The band is now poised to release their new EP, Predator of Fear, and is actively working on their next full-length album, slated for 2025. This upcoming work promises an even more intense blend of brutality and symphonic elements, featuring Kévin Paradis from Benighted on drums and Ben B from Gorod on bass.
