Upon These Scars are an alternative metal/rock band hailing from Providence, Rhode Island.
Scar is a talented Dominican singer/songwriter. Despite years of stage fright, she decided to challenge herself by joining a band to explore her love of rock music. If there is one thing that makes her happy, it’s seeing diversity within the rock community and becoming a part of it. This led her to Join fellow Dominican musician Winston to create UTS. Named the “Metal Lizzo” by her peers, she has powerhouse vocals that are unique.
Winston is a savvy guitarist. He is heavily influenced by the music of his cultural background including the catchy riffs from Bachata music. He mixes this with his love of 80’s rock and metalcore which has led him to play in multiple bands in the RI music scene. With his down to earth personality, he brings so much into what makes UTS work.
Andrew is a drumming machine that likes to spend hours on end playing and creating new music. A lover of post-hardcore and deathcore music, he brings all the heavy influences and high energy. Named ‘The drumming Ron Swanson’ he brings all the laughs to practice and devotes his time to making sure all ideas are fused together to bring the bands sound together.
Although new to the music world, they have proven that they can bring in a crowd and impress people no matter their genre preference. They hope to continue to make the music that they love according to their own rules and tour the world together.
