Upon Waking began in late 2024 in Brighton, UK where Matt turned restless ideas into songs that grew beyond their origins. He began in punk rock bands, where raw energy and DIY spirit shaped his early sound. Over time, the project expanded from a solo experiment into a full band, crafting alternative pop that thrives on mood, texture, and a restless sense of discovery.
