UTOPIA is an Abruzzo-based alternative/indie rock band made up of Luca Gilmour (Luca Di Criscio), vocals & guitar; MrDave ( Davide Barbati ), drums; Dream (Francesco Luigi Bottega), bass & vocals and Zeph (Giuseppe Giancristofaro), guitar & keys, coming from different cities across the province of Chieti.
Blending indie rock and alternative influences, their sound is constantly evolving: no two songs are quite the same. With an eye on an international audience, their lyrics are written in English and explore different themes, all connected by one idea: breaking free from the monotony of modern life.
Behind the scenes, Giovanni Sideri plays a fundamental role as studio owner, producer and live sound engineer.
The story began in early 2025, when Luca, Bottega and Giovanni discovered MrDave performing with his guitarist father Stefano Barbati . Impressed by his talent, they invited him to form a band. MrDave then brought in his friend Zeph, completing the lineup and giving birth to UTOPIA.
In May 2026, the band received the “Best Artist” Award at the Due Note A Vasto contest.
The work has begun.
The band is ready to share what they have created.
This is UTOPIA.
