Donovan N. Gammon, who performs as Van Gammon, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Growing up in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Van Gammon began rapping in his local neighborhood, and the school hallways, entertaining family, friends, and fellow classmates. Driven by his love for music and poetry, Van Gammon released a series of popular singles and mixtapes, which drew a lot of interest and recognition, leading to appearances on stage with artists such as Chuuwee and Jarren Benton, and collaborations with other popular recording artists.
In his constant quest to grow as an artist and improve his music, Van Gammon relocated to Dallas, Texas where he began collaborating with top producers Norman “MouseQuake” Barrett, JahBorn, and Symbolyc One (S1) to name a few. Following the release of his of his EP “Love Thy” in 2017, Van Gammon landed a record deal with Culture Unlimited, a Dallas independent record label. Teaming up with Culture Unlimited Producer Jared “ReezyTunez” Thorne, a protégé of Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and producer for FOX’s Empire and Star, they began working on Van Gammon’s newest project “Destiny Can Wait” (July 2018).
An introduction into what he has to offer a starving music industry. Musically inspired by Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, and fellow hometown ledged J. Cole, the album surrounds themes of his personal journey towards the appreciation of life, family, and achieving your goals with dedication, determination, and patience.
