Once a demo singer for Maroon 5, a backup vocalist for John Legend, a featured performer on TV shows like Black-ish and The Voice, and movie soundtracks like High School Musical 3 and La La Land, VÂN SCOTT has lived in the background for most of his music career...until now!
Mentored by two Grammy-winning superproducers, Darkchild and Mike Elizondo, Scott is putting his songwriting and production skills front and center, alongside a pure, strong, and colorful voice, reminiscent of such range-defying singers as Nate Ruess (F.U.N.), Ben Platt, and Freddie Mercury.
Scott released his first album <a href="spotify:album:61D3S2L1aktPOziK3Kv2wM" data-name="Almost Gone">Almost Gone</a> (AWAL) in 2021, featuring the single "<a href="spotify:album:5NiJSv1Gx7VTcZNTumVnsx" data-name="What's Coming Next?">What's Coming Next?</a>" that went on to become the Overall Grand Prize Winner of the 2021 USA Songwriting Competition. Since graduating with a Masters from BerkleeNYC, Scott has released his sophomore LP, <a href="spotify:album:2vFDqcwCwoL2xgjwTueHJH" data-name="Songs I Never Wrote (because they would've been about you)">Songs I Never Wrote (because they would've been about you)</a>. His "hopeful yet melancholic songwriting" (Earmilk) is epitomized in this collection of sad, but true stories that look back at love lost.
