Waves Rush In was first shared with the world by Sam Branson in 2021, with the release of his first EP titled ‘Season’s Change’. His debut album ‘Under The Static’ was released on 16 June 2023 to rave reviews from the likes of Ed Sheeran and support from Ryan Reynolds. Featured press coverage came in from the likes of The Times, Yahoo and an on-air television interview on ITV’s Lorraine in July 2023.
2024 sees the release of Waves' follow up album 'Equilibrium'. The album's lead single 'Like a Hero' was released in May 2024 with each track from the album being released one-by-one over the next twelve months, culminating in the release of his second album in April 2025.
Equilibrium is a concept album inviting listeners on an emotive journey over the course of 12 short songs, giving them an experience which evokes positive reflection and emotion. The song's lyrics convey a raft of reflective
insights and wisdom Sam has gained through his life experiences.
The concept of shorter songs comes as new territory for storyteller Sam who’s new direction is a nurtured
and focused body of work following the indie-pop sounds of his previous releases. Having spent the past
several years honing the indie/pop/folk genre, this follow-up album draws on melancholic melodies and
contemplative moods. The fabric in which all Waves Rush In’s previous sounds have been woven tell a
tale of passion, adventure, love, loss and everything in-between.
