VC Barre grew up in Märsta/Stockholm and London. He recently turned 20 and has been releasing music completely independently since 2020.
Music has not always been the focus but started as something fun to do in spare time. VC Barre wrote lyrics when he had nothing else to do. Over time the lyrics got better and Barre found a greater interest in music.
"I would describe my music as different life periods. All my lyrics are inspired by events that have happened in my life or stories that I have been told," VC Barre describes his music.
In just two years, Barre has amassed over 85 million streams and is a TikTok fan with over 2.4M likes. No less than 16 of his songs have gone straight into the top 100 list. Five of the songs have entered the top 10 list on Spotify.
In 2021, VC Barre and ADAAM were Grammy-nominated for Song of the Year with "TOPP", he was also nominated for P3 Gold of the Year hip-hop/rnb.
VC Barre has been featured in several established media and played at our biggest festivals like Way Out West and Lollapalooza.
In the summer of 2023, VC Barre released his own version of <a href="spotify:artist:6IfZesOI3vKCZy8pjzVknj" data-name="Albin Johnsén">Albin Johnsén</a> hit "Din soldat" together with star producers <a href="spotify:artist:16U51AjPH40zvPxDA8FjVT" data-name="takenoelz">takenoelz</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:1MPDGl1VzA7muXZSIZ2Zc0" data-name="Pablo Paz">Pablo Paz</a>. The song entered the first place, both on the singles chart and Spotify's top 50 list.
