Verker is a US solo project formed by Rune "Agathorn" Richards in late 2017. The name comes from the norwegian word for "works" or "wonders". Similar to the background of the name, Verker takes influence from Germanic themes and myth with it's nature/folk influences and use of Old Norse lyrics. Consisting of an experimental/atmospheric mixture of Dark Prog/Folk and Post-Black Metal originally, it has gone more in the direction of Blackened Avant-garde/Progressive Pagan/Folk Metal.
The 2019 single <a href="spotify:album:2htiCR6IVAEPmsMFVMkgyK" data-name="Prophecy of Chaos (Völva)">Prophecy of Chaos (Völva)</a> shows the dynamics of the forthcoming debut album "Twilight... (Røkkr, Act I)". This establishes the root sound of Atmospheric/Melodic Pagan Black Metal with Avant-garde/Progressive influences that has become Verker.
The June 2020 single <a href="spotify:album:4YL0uryEhrrgekpDumVB7p" data-name="Cold Winds of Woven Reflection">Cold Winds of Woven Reflection</a> track 1 from "Twilight..." and the neo-classical/Post-Rock elements that came with it show off the melodic diversity of what's to come in the album.
