VERSE SIMMONDS is a 5 x grammy nominated artist, singer-songwriter and producer who was born in Puerto Rico, raised in Virgin Islands but now splits his time between Atlanta and Los Angeles. Often mixing “R&B, a little bit of Caribbean flavor, hip hop” and pop, his “Island B” vocal stylings and melodies can be found throughout so much of pop music – most recently Chris Brown, Marshmello, Usher, Saweetie, French Montana to name a few. Some of his most well known hits include “Confident” by Justin Bieber and Chance The Rapper, Rihanna’s Man Down, Who Gon Stop Me by Kanye West and Jay Z, New Flame by Chris Brown, Usher and Rick Ross in addition to several records across Chris Brown’s X, Heartbreak on a Full Moon and upcoming album. A dynamic talent, Verse is readying the release of his artist project that will soon join his long list of discography.
For this forthcoming album Rude Boy, Verse has stepped into his grassroots and previously released Gunstown in anticipation for this change sonically. Rude Boy is a reggae and afro beat album, combined with rich soulful melodies, great songwriting and incredible storytelling. Bedroom Bully will be the first official single from Rude Boy. Off the success of artists like Burna Boy, Movado, Koffee and more; with Rihanna about to debut a dancehall album, this genre is about to have a moment in music itself. Therefore it is perfect timing for Verse to return to his origin and release the anticipated Rude Boy.
