Vicious Angel is rock group originally from Oneonta, New York. They were formed in 1989 by founding members Peter Vox, Darren Wilsey, Tim Budney, Rob Lipari and Shane Stineford.

They are best known for performing and recording hard rock and heavy metal music.

Iterations of the band’s lineup also included drummers Eric Logan and Kevin Atteniese (1971 - 2005), and guitarist Mark Lowe.

They were awarded Best Band at the 1989 and 1990 Music Benefit Concert in Oneonta, NY. On June 10, 1990, Vicious Angel performed a historic sold-out show at the Oneonta Theater.

Musician magazine called Darren Wilsey “a guitar player with raw energy and excellent conviction.”

The band’s early influences included rock music luminaries such as Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Kiss, and Boston. However, some of their more recent musical endeavors draw upon 90s grunge, pop and crossover-country music influences.

Such inspirations become obvious when observing frontman Peter Vox, whose incredible five-octave vocal range has helped craft the band’s exciting live sound. Reminiscent of a modern David Lee Roth, Vox has become regarded for his impressive high-energy stage theatrics. Peter made his national debut on MTV in 1989. He is also a published author and mental health wellness advocate.

In April 2026, the band released the long-awaited studio album IGNITE, which features new renditions of their most popular songs and previously unreleased material.
