The Vigato Quartet first met in 2010 at the Academy of Music in Detmold.
The string quartet was inspired by working with the Auryn Quartett and the Belcea Quartet as well as Heime Müller (Artemis Quartett), Eberhard Feltz, Valentin Erben (Alban Berg Quartett), Tim Vogler (Vogler Quartett), William Coleman und Oliver Wille (Kuss Quartett), Dirk Mommertz (Fauré Quartett) and Hariolf Schlichtig (Cherubini Quartett).
Master classes and workshops enriched the ensemble’s musical development.
In August 201 6 the Vigato Quartet received an invitation to the Jeunesses Musicales International Chamber Music Campus in Weikersheim, in 2017 to International Summer Academy for Chamber Music.
Concert tours have taken the Vigato Quartet throughout Germany and Europe. In 2015 it was subsequently invited to the international Festival Pablo Casals in Prades (France) and the Rigi Musiktage in Vitznau (Switzerland).
In 2017 the first CD of Vigato, together with the harpist Rebekka Frömling, was released by PASCHENrecords.
