I’m Vik, a self-taught keyboard player and producer living in a small town in northern Spain.
I’ve never been very good at staying inside one genre. I can hear something in a club, find a strange rhythm in a video at 2 a.m., fall in love with an old record, or simply notice a sound while walking through the city — and a few days later that idea can become part of a track.
That’s basically how I make music. I collect things that make me feel something and rebuild them in my own way.
I learned music by experimenting, making mistakes, watching other musicians and spending an unreasonable amount of time behind a keyboard and a computer. I don’t have a traditional musical background, so curiosity has always been my real teacher.
AI tools have recently become another part of that process. For me they’re not a replacement for creativity — they finally gave me a way to explore ideas that used to exist only in my head. I can move faster, try stranger combinations and follow an idea without worrying too much about what genre it is supposed to belong to.
If I like the sound, I follow it.
