Born in Rome in 2009, the music of Vinegar Socks quickly gained attention, prompting invites to collaborate on projects for both theater and film (including Valerio Mieli's "Dieci Inverni," debuting at the 2009 Venice Film Festival, together with the music of <a href="spotify:artist:6FlxhoUGATC40TALMesaFM" data-name="Vinicio Capossela">Vinicio Capossela</a>), as well as musical, cultural and theatrical festivals. They've opened for internationally recognized indie artists (<a href="spotify:artist:2Ddjp057iVaWejaYYLTb4i" data-name="Kari King">Kari King</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:6PBv8t9YTLggA9ZMwpeoqj" data-name="Joan As Police Woman">Joan As Police Woman</a>) and performed live on MTV and Radio Rai Uno (national Italian radio).
Their self-titled debut album "<a href="spotify:album:5kprmNNOtD8nQtC8TQTBkd" data-name="Vinegar Socks">Vinegar Socks</a>" was released through Boston's Grinding Tapes Records. It featured guest appearances by a number of musicians. The singles "Chimney Sweeper" and "Life in the Sewer" form part of this predominantly acoustic collection of songs.
