From Umlazi born composer and producer Vista, real name Innocent Vukile Zama writing music has always been a part of his life, having begun toying with the pen during his primary and secondary school days at Sithokoziso Junior Primary school and Vukuzakhe High School Umlazi M and J Sections, respectively.
Having grown up to the sounds of kwaito music in the 90s and early 2000s, Vista knew even back then that he would take up music as a career. He tried his hand at hip hop, Durban Kwaito Music and other styles of music before finding his voice in writing catchy Gqom lyrics while also improving and slowly mastering the art of composing and producing Gqom, Afrobeat and house music beats.
His latest accolades include having a hand in producing hit songs that feature prominently on DJ Maphorisa’s Gqom Wave 1 & 2 albums between 2017 and 2018. To prove his versatility as an artist, composer and producer, Vista was in 2017, signed by Maphorisa through his record labe Blaqboy Music/ Sony Music.
