After receiving my diploma in civil engineering, I chose to pursue a career in music composition. I studied jazz harmony with Ali Perret at Timur Selçuk’s Contemporary Music Center.
Since 1991, I’ve composed music for over 40 TV series and films, working with directors such as Osman Seden, Şerif Gören, Temel Gürsu, Yücel Uçanoğlu, Mahinur Ergun, İsmail Güneş, Nursan Esenboğa, Faruk Turgut, Kudret Sabancı, Cemal Şan, Hilal Saral, Sadullah Şentürk, and Cankat Ergin. My work has accompanied stars like Türkan Şoray, Ediz Hun, Göksel Arsoy, Müjde Ar, Şener Şen, Rutkay Aziz, Aydan Şener, Hülya Avşar, Sibel Turnagöl, and Tardu Flordun.
I’m known for “Amerikalı” and “Gölge Çiçeği”, both with lyrics by Aysel Gürel. I’ve composed music for popular singers’ series in the 2000s, produced jingles and two library CDs, and released albums including “Dreamin' Istanbul” (Burak Demir) and “Koku” (Beyza Durmaz).
As a founding member of MSG, I served on its board for seven years.
In 2001, I discovered the magic of wooden flutes and Irish whistles, which I now explore in experimental productions. My spoken-word singles include “Bi’ Kerecik (with DJ Gülbahar Kültür), “Beceriksizlerin Birliği” (feat. Ebru Özpirinçci), “Depression” (feat. Nez), and “Kara Haber” (feat. Hatice Balaban), released across European compilations.
