IMHOTEP “VYBRANT” BERHANU

Known by his nickname to many Vybrant, Imhotep Berhanu is a Jamaican singer, songwriter, producer and actor comedian His unique blend of reggae and dancehall has helped to propel him on the international stage with hits such as Ears Hard and Ok One Day.

Born in Yallahs, St. Thomas, Vybrant’s love for music was realized throughout his time in High School. During this time, he developed his skills through dancing, drama and writing. He was seen as a uniquely gifted individual who has the ability to woo his audience with incredible vocal skills, cutting edge lyrics and astounding moves and frolics.

Vybrant started his career as a hardcore dancehall artist and even went by the nickname "Squeechie Killer," where he was gaining steady traction in the music industry. However, serious medical issues slowed down the career of this bright young star that caused his career to sidetrack for two years. This caused a life that was heading in a devastating direction of gang violence to find Rastafarianism. Gravitating towards the messages of His Majesty Haile Selassie and the teachings of Marcus Garvey while recovering, Vybrant was able to gain a positive outlook on life and rid himself of gang participation.

As Vybrant’s career started to blossom he was able to work with some of the most prolific and sought-after producers in the music industry that were impressed by his prowess such as Computer Paul, UIM Records, Young Vibes Productions, Major Links, etc
