Hailing from San Angelo, TX, War Child was founded by guitarist/songwriter Zachary Peterson, drummer Cooper Jones, and bassist Scott Russell. The band began playing at weekly jam and open mic nights, and of course, the spare bedroom of Cooper’s apartment. Drawing inspiration from life’s ups and downs, Zachary likens the sound to a “heavy, funky, cosmic blues”. The name of the band serves as a nod to the wars fought externally and internally within the hearts and souls of all mankind.
