Cajun fiddler Waylon Thibodeaux was born and raised in Louisiana's Bayou Country, where he began playing music at the age of eight. At 16, he was named the state's fiddle champion, his live performances going on to become an institution of New Orleans' Bourbon Street area. Thibodeaux earned his first wide exposure when he landed three tracks on the 1995 compilation Margaritaville Café New Orleans--Late Night Gumbo; for Mardi Gras Records. Other albums include 1993's Cajun Festival and 1995's Like a Real Cajun. Subsequent efforts include In Jackson Square and Tu Me Fais Crier. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
