Weeper is an international collaboration between friends: Mary Craig (Washington D.C.) José Sanchez (Zapala, Argentina), and Agustina Perrotta (Santa Fe, Argentina). Mary arrived in Buenos Aires in 2016 with a grant to teach English and in a chance encounter met guitarist and producer José after buying an electric guitar from his brother. Their mutual interest in the other’s home country’s folk traditions (Neil Young and Jaime Torres) laid the groundwork for their collaboration. The band debuted their first EP in 2020 before the pandemic interrupted plans of touring. With dates in Patagonia and Buenos Aires, they returned to the Buenos Aires music scene after having released their second EP “Morale” in 2022. Their debut LP will be released in November of 2023. Hitting the intimate and holy notes of singer songwriting, Weeper also bops with the force and release of a rock band. Playful between two languages and porous to the full spectrum of laugh and cry, Weeper is down to move and be moved.
