Based in LA, Wheez-ie’s illustrious style of rave is thundering and propulsive, designed to ignite dance floors and encourage introspection. As a virtuosic mixing DJ and lifelong student, the Houston native’s music displays a deep mastery and knowledge of genre tropes, as well as innumerable ways in which he expounds upon and subverts them – folding jungle and hardcore into ghettotech and techno.

In addition to tactfully building a catalog of original music that reflects his distinctive knack for pushing boundaries, with releases on esteemed labels including THEM, Fool’s Gold, Well Rounded, and Nest HQ, he also runs his own independent label, Southern Belle Recordings. The imprint, whose inaugural release slot was blessed by the late <a href="spotify:artist:4zGBj9dI63YIWmZkPl3o7V" data-name="DJ Rashad">DJ Rashad</a> in 2014, doubles as another pathway for Wheez-ie to express support for those in the trenches alongside him, further showcasing how this music and the community it fosters is integral to his self-expression, identity and overall gratitude for being able to give back to a scene that has given him so much.
