From the very beginning of its existence Whitewater has been a perfect example that the end of one thing can become the beginning of something new.
When Jędrzej Wencka, Szymon Baranowski and Piotr Golimowski - members of Polish Rock / Stoner band called K=I=W=I lost their vocalist they reached out to Jason Barwick from a famous UK blues rock band - The Brew. That was a beginning of an unexpected international collaboration from which Whitewater’s debut album - Small Town Violence - was born.
After a few years of playing together the band members once again saw their vocalist leaving them. Whitewater went hiatus, but never stopped playing. They were auditioning for a vocalist but it was not an easy task. After all - filling in for a musician such as Jason seemed impossible. After a few years of frustration the band decided to get their good friend Dawid Paszkiewicz on board to be their second guitarist. Jędrzej Wencka took the position behind the mic to check if that would work. At this point the band decided not to continue playing their past material and took a turn into even more raw, dark, grunge’y direction.
During Covid pandemic Whitewater worked on their first concept album which was released on 26th Jan 2024. "Afterlife" is a journey meticulously woven through twelve melodious narratives. This compelling collection of songs ruminates on the human condition, touching upon themes of struggle, longing, and reflections on an ever-changing world. Check it out!
