Widetrack

Widetrack is a father-son “Alterna-Prog” rock duo from Michigan, blending the cinematic depth of prog with the raw intensity of alternative and hard rock.

Ron and Zach Tippin create music that channels the moody atmosphere of Pink Floyd and Porcupine Tree, fused with the power of bands like Soundgarden, Tool, and Queens of the Stone Age.

Between 2007 and 2016, Ron self-released the first three Widetrack albums, with 'Widetrack III' marking Zach’s debut on bass. In 2019, the duo began co-writing for the first time, releasing one new track each month. These songs became their fourth album, 'The Unwakening' (2020), released on Zach’s 16th birthday.

Their follow-up, 'Monoliths' (2023), expanded their sonic and conceptual reach. Now, with the release of 'Galatea' (2025) - a psychological concept album that explores obsession, trauma, and redemption through a nonlinear narrative - Widetrack enters a bold new chapter. Dark, cinematic, and emotionally unflinching, 'Galatea' marks their most ambitious work to date.
