Wife Patrol is a band made up of three friends who decided to play music together as an inside joke in the fall of 2015. It was such a good time, they are still doing it ten years later, so the joke’s on them. Through shared influences including alternative rock, punk, metal, and pop, Wife Patrol creates a sound untethered by genre.
The Indianapolis-based trio consists of Nicole O’Neal (bass/vocals), Natasha O’Neill (drums/vocals), and Greg O’Neill (guitar/vocals). With no singular lead singer, the band’s signature sound includes co-lead vocals and harmonies not often found in rock music. The instrumentation stretches in ways that both complement and dance around each part, resulting in a full sonic experience that rivals bands twice its size.
The band’s debut album Too Prickly for This World (2020) earned praise from VICE, AFROPUNK, and The Alternative, among others; received radio airplay from Montreal to Melbourne; garnered sales across the U.S., Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and Canada; and landed a “New and Notable” mention on Bandcamp, and a slot on its shortlist of 16 all-time best-selling alt rock albums.
2025’s follow-up NOPLACE brings the band back together after personal and global upheaval. Wife Patrol produced and recorded the 10-track album with P. David Hazel (The Lemonheads, Extra Blue Kind, Bullet Points) from 2022 to 2024. With songs exploring the melancholy of the unknown, NOPLACE demonstrates the band’s growth as songwriters and collaborators.
