Wilderwater is the recording project of producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Aaron Shafer-Haiss.
A prolific composer, Shafer-Haiss has written music for Pulitzer Prize-winning documentaries, Emmy Award-winning programs, and features on HBO, Netflix, Showtime, and The CW. He's a dedicated collaborator, too, logging more than a decade as a drummer for artists like Margo Price, Nicole Atkins, Elizabeth Cook, Ron Pope, and Michaela Anne.
With Wilderwater, he takes the reins as writer, producer, sole instrumentalist, and mixing engineer, while still upholding the collaborative spirit that runs throughout his work. ONE, Wilderwater's debut, finds Shafer-Haiss creating a collection of songs anchored in indie rock, pop, and American roots music. A different vocalist joins him on each track. Featuring appearances by Andrew Combs, Erin Rae, Kyshona Armstrong, Krief, and Shelly Fairchild, ONE is a five-song EP that's every bit as diverse as Shafer-Haiss' career.
From the anthemic, cinematic pop of "Savior" (featuring Shelly Fairchild) to the groove-driven soul of "Rewind" (featuring Kyshona), ONE casts a wide net, pushing each artist to explore new sounds not found on their own releases.
