Winded City formed in the Chicago suburbs in 2010 and quickly became a known alternative to the area’s pop punk scene. Coming from early influences like Nirvana and The Smashing Pumpkins, the band harbors an intense sound with an equally strong affinity for attractive melodies. They have since found a way to combine their members’ individual musical tastes to create an eclectic and unique brand of alternative rock. The quartet mixes a variety of genres to create a style described as “mood rock”, a wide soundscape that goes from dreamy to funky while maintaining a foundation in the alternative rock roots that started the band in the first place. As established on Winded City - EP and further explored on their first album Welcome Home, members Joey Rocco, Collin Thomas, Michael Krunis, and Marc DeMory continue to bridge musical gaps as Winded City solidifies their own personal, distinct sound.

Winded City released I'm Still Here In February 2019, a culmination of the band's beating, washed-out, and meticulous sound. A signal of the band's maturing and collaborative sound, the record included vocal contributions from all four members of the band and a wide array of experimental production techniques to create a tone that is uniquely Winded City.
