From what started as soft sounds, and quickly grew into hard rock, Wiri Donna's musical journey is nothing short of electrifying. Led by songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist, Bianca Bailey, featuring the incredible talents of Harrison Scholes (Arjuna Oakes, TOI), James MacEwan (Arjuna Oakes), and Elliott Dawson. When live, this four-piece powerhouse has unparalleled energy. In early 2022, Wiri Donna unleashed her debut EP, 'Being Alone,' described by Rolling Stone as one of the fiercest feminist releases of the year. Co-produced with James Goldsmith, tracks like "Being Alone," "No Follow Through," and "Big Pop" were highlights of the SRN Charts.
Now, Wiri Donna has dialled it up a notch yet again as rock music has well and truly taken hold. Wiri Donna have launched into 2024 with a new sound at their side and another record to back it up. ‘In My Chambers’ is set to be one hell of a collection, inspired by feminine rage and brought to life with heavy guitars, grungy bass and the wonder production of James Goldsmith.
The band is known for their vivacious live shows, having supported heavy hitters such as Fontaines D.C, Skegss, Mild Orange & The Beths and graced stages at Rhythm & Vines, Twisted Frequency, Tora Bombora, and TSB Festival Lights. Their captivating performances are a breath of fresh air, and it's no surprise they were named finalists for the Taite Music Prize, Best Independent Debut.
