The band name, “With Fingers Crossed”, was just a suggestion to us by Navs, from his friend. We were asking people what would be a nice name for the band's first battle of the bands back in the day and it stuck—with a simple interpretation: hoping, as one does when one keeps one's fingers crossed for anything.
With Fingers Crossed began in September 2010, when two friends, Louie and Juris, wanted to continue making and playing music after their High School days in UPIS ended in 2008.
Early 2009, Navs, a drummer from Ateneo, became part of the band after having been acquainted with Juris in UP Diliman. These were the humble beginnings of the band: studio rehearsals, gigs in bars, concerts, and school events—Juris, being a member of The UP Underground Music Community.
In 2013, Austrian-Filipino musician/guitarist, Lucas, also a member of UP Underground, was added to their line-up of members.
Our genre of music leans mostly toward rock; as our influences result to emotional melodic vocals, harmonic rocking guitar riffs, and a combination of slow grove to upbeat bass n' drum lines.
An opportunity presented itself to the band in 2015: the recording and release of our very first EP, "Luna". The EP was launched and released on May 15, 2015 (5.15.15) in Route 196. The CD, produced, recorded and mixed by Ean Aguila, mastered by Dan Galapon, both comprising Eelectric Studios, is still available. "Luna" includes 5 of our songs, including our single "Staring at Bottles".
