We are WOODFORD an indie folk collective from London. Influenced by the likes of Ben Howard, Damien Rice and Keaton Henson, WOODFORD have a whole new sound. Although the songs are long, you can very easily find yourself getting lost in the music, as meaningful lyrics are backed up by heartfelt dynamics. Follow WOODFORD as they make their bedroom recordings of guitar and vocals, sound like an orchestra of instruments and a choir of vocals.
My Marie:
WOODFORD's first single 'My Marie' shows a small glimpse into what is to come. Recorded with one microphone in one night 'My Marie' feels exposed, delicate and in the moment. The lyrics, although seem obvious, have many layers, meanings and messages. George tells the story after a fight with his then girlfriend, and debates the longevity of the relationship. The song later takes time in the Chorus to reflect on his weakness’s, and foreshadows the near future. Then finally says sorry, for being just a friend and nothing more.
